A member shall pass through the “Associate” status before moving to the “Regular” status. In exceptional cases, and upon the approval of the Membership Council, a member may be awarded the “Regular” membership designation on its initial membership to the association.

The Board of Trustees, voting unanimously, may award the Honorary Life Membership to a member in spite of not meeting the technical prerequisites for such designation.

In the absence of stipulation, a registered membership is required for an endorsement in international professional associations.

Membership Guidelines

A person must have the following qualifications to become a member of the International Association of Business Professionals (IABP):

     i) At least eighteen (18) years of age;
     ii) Endorsed by the IABP Membership Council.

The Board of Trustees reserves the right to ascertain the initial membership of an invitee/applicant.

  1. The registration is a part of the membership process. It starts from filling in the online registration form.
  2. There shall be an Induction of Membership in the association.
  3. A Membership Identification Number shall be indefinitely assigned to a member.
  4. A Membership Card shall also be issued to a member.
  5. A Certificate of Membership shall also be given to a member.
  6. Payment of the membership fee is a requirement for the processing of the membership registration.
  7. The Registration is valid for two (2) years.


  1. The membership period ends on December 31 of a year.
  2. The induction year in the membership shall not be counted as full year of membership and shall be excluded in the 2-year active membership period.
  3. A member is in the active membership status if all the requirements for membership are complied.


  1. Membership is renewed every two (2) years
  2. Endorsement from the Continuing Professional Development Council is required for the renewal for membership. The CPD Council shall issue guidelines on such endorsement.
  3. Renewal in membership allows the continuous use of the membership QR code to access the membership privileges.
  4. Only active members are permitted to renew their registration and certification titles.
  1. Members who are not paying their dues may be suspended, deactivated or cancelled.
  2. A deactivated member has its name still in the Registry of Membership, however, cannot exercise the rights and privileges as an active member.
  3. A suspended member is one whose name is temporarily not found in the Registry of Membership and, therefore, loses the rights and privileges as a member during the suspension period.
  4. A person whose membership in the Association is cancelled shall have the name permanently delisted from the Registry of Membership and all the rights and privileges awarded, bestowed, or conferred as a member have been revoked by the Association.
  5. A membership may be deactivated for not paying the annual membership dues and for failure to regularly renew a membership title.
  6. A membership may be suspended and cancelled if a member is found in violation of the Code of Ethics for IABP or has shown conduct unbecoming of an IABP member and as resolved by the Ethics Board.
  7. A membership may be suspended or cancelled even if the membership to the Association is paid in full.
